Tips for Helping
You Pack For Your Cruise
Like most vacations, it is tough to figure
out what to bring. There are many occasions, you never know
what the weather will bring, and most people either over pack
or underpack. Start to relax!! Packing for a cruise is not as
stress as one may think. First of all, if you forget something,
you will most likely be able to buy iton the ship itself, but
for more than you would normally pay for. The cruise ships know
that the chances of people forgetting a necessary item are
quite high, therefore they can raise the prices, since the item
is a must-have! A good idea to avoid this idea is to
start making a list a few weeks before you go on your cruise of
everything you need to do, buy and pack for your best vacation
ever! This will make it easier when the time for packing--and
unneeded stress- comes around. It also gives you a chance to
change things on the list, and talk to other people who are
sure to give you advice for your cruise. Once you have the list
made and you have started packing, you can check off items that
are packed as you go along, so you will know if you have
forgotten anything.
As something to keep in mind as you pack, if you
are a person that uses electrical razors, blowdryers, or
straighteners, you will definetely want to bring some
sort of electrical outlet, which you can buy for just a
few bucks, as the rooms rarely have more then one outlet,
making it impossible to multi-task! Keep in mind
that if you are heading towards Europe, you will need a
power converter as well.
A fun way to keep in touch with whoever you go
on the cruise with, cheaply, is walkie talkies or two way
radios. This way if you go your own way, you can still
keep in touch when you are ready to meet up again,
without having to set up a designated meeting time. If
you can't afford this method, good old note leaving works
as well, so make sure you have paper and
pens!
If you have a cell phone and can't go without
it, that's okay, just don't forget your charger. It makes
it easier for calling cabs, keeping in touch at home
(especially just with text messages), and you will have
it with you in case of emergencies! You will have a
way to contact your travel agent should something go
wrong, and some cell phones have address books in them so
you can send postcards to your loved
ones!
